Every year Spider Crabs (Leptomithrax gaimardii) move from the ocean’s depths to congregate en masse in the shallow waters of Port Phillip Bay. This individual, however, avoided the crowds by climbing a pylon under the pier, allowing me to isolate this image against the light streaming through the background.
