White-faced Heron

The solitude of an early spring evening is punctuated by the sudden flash of a White-faced Heron disturbing the mirror-like surface of the inland billabong. As in all special moments of nature photography, time stands still while a crescent-shaped spray of water arches gracefully above, blessing both the heron and its unsuspecting prey.
