Rabbit-proof fence


While photographing the autumn foliage around Wanaka and Cardrona, I came across this decayed carcass with its mouth caught around a barbed wire fence. Introduced animals, once the whim of human folly, may eventually become pests. In stark contrast to the picturesque scenery around me, is this wiry grave justified?
