Moonlight swanata

BLACK AND WHITE – Runner-up

Beneath the rising full moon, the swan family settled down for the night, their ripples creating a shimmering pool of moonlight around them. Manual exposure was used after spot metering on the mid-frame water to maintain the broad tonal range. Burning and vignetting was achieved in postproduction using an adjustment layer blended in multiply mode and painted through a mask.
