Leatherback hatchling’s last stand

This ocean-bound Leatherback Turtle hatchling is one of thousands saved by a local conservation program run by Tetepare Island’s descendants. Former turtle hunters are now champions for the Leatherbacks, dedicating days and nights throughout the breeding season to help rescue the species from the brink of extinction.
