Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) sheltering from the wind and rain

This section of forest is one of the best places I know to see and photograph Koalas – the gum vegetation is lush, the forest dense, and the trees relatively low. On this occasion we witnessed several unseasonal storm fronts and it was particularly cold. We spotted this Koala looking rather miserable. Rather than get closer, I decided to frame him huddled among the trees, seeking protection from the rain but to no avail.
