Hooded Plover take-off

ANIMAL PORTRAIT

An early morning walk on Four Mile Beach revealed a rather active pair of Hooded Plovers. The unspoilt shores that fringe Maria Island offer an ideal breeding habitat, lacking the all too present mainland pressures of beach-going 4WDs, jet skis, dog walkers and day trippers.
