Moss on rock

BOTANICAL SUBJECT – Runner-up

I have always been fascinated by patterns in nature, and the moss struggling to survive on the rocky outcrops around the shoreline of Lake Gairdner caught my eye. Photographed close up, the greentinged moss contrasts beautifully with the red rock to reveal a maze of intricate patterns.
