Intermediate Egrets

The image was taken around 6.30 am to take advantage of the early morning summer light. The nuptually plumed egrets were engrossed in their courting routine. The male bird would gather branches and return, carefully transferring the branch to the female, who would then, with great
persistence, continue to build their nest.
