Camouflaged Crab Spider

ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR

I was photographing the flower spikes of Grasstrees (Xanthorrhoea australis) when I noticed this Crab Spider hidden within the tiny flowers. Their common name comes from the way their legs curve forward in a crab-like manner. They are masters of disguise and sit and wait to ambush their prey.
