A living dinosaur

This is an image of a Southern Giant Petrel mantling and asserting dominance over a carcass. This bird moved in with the raw presence of a gunslinger oblivious to a wary audience of King Penguins. It is an evocative and primordial pose reminiscent of its long-extinct raptor relatives.
