Pelican portrait

BLACK AND WHITE

The resident Australian Pelicans were resting in the sun at the zoo’s Southern Oceans exhibit. One bird was sitting near the enclosure fence, creating the opportunity for an extreme close-up, frame-filling portrait. There was minimal colour in the photo so I converted it to black and white, emphasising composition and tones.
