Finding and photographing this Numbat has been the highlight of my life as a wildlife voyeur. Crouched outside its hollow log, I waited patiently for it to emerge. Feral predators, altered fire regimes and habitat loss are the primary threats to the Numbat, Western Australia’s faunal emblem. Dryandra woodland, Western Australia
