Masked Lapwing and chick

I’d gone to the gardens to photograph Lily pads. As I left, already late for an appointment, I spied a pair of Masked Lapwings and their three just-hatched chicks. I was able to wriggle on my belly to within a few metres of the ridiculously tame birds and spent a happy hour with them, forgetting my duties elsewhere.
