Holy Cross Toad

ANIMAL PORTRAIT

The Holy Cross Toad (Notaden bennetti) is actually a Frog, but is called a toad due to its warty appearance. It is a common but rarely seen burrowing Frog, only coming to the surface to feed and breed after heavy rains have inundated its habitat in western New South Wales and Queensland.
